You are missing a lot more than Monday. It's hard to imagine that better backups are kept. Disappointing at best.

that explains my missing posts!

my Sunday post is gone...and while I know you didn't do it personally or on purpose, it really frustrates me. Other sites go down for maintainance but come up without huge errors. Why can't yours?

I totally get your frustration -- we're frustrated. Please understand this was not maintenance -- this was a failure. We're working hard to carefully restore any recoverable lost posts.

From what I saw, it seems that the loss is larger than what you've stated. Sunday posts and comments are all gone. -- Here's what I wrote in the forums ( http://mog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2114 )

PS: I'll stand by MOG no matter what but it would have been nice to have David who's on many trusted lists saying a few words about the breakdown.

Agreed... He goes on to post as if nothing has happened T. Jay & many MOGgers don't reckognize your name as I do so chances are they may not read this post.

Update regarding the extent of our loss. (This has been brought to my attention by Mogger Ohm51)

All "trusted" added during this period are also erased from your list. If like me you added someone to your "trusted list" between 9th and 12th May. If you still remember their handles/names, I'll suggest you'll add them anew.

Also, it seems all MOG mails exchanged during the above period have also been atomised... Which is rather annoying considering that I lost a most witty mail from Ohm51 kindly commenting on some of my shortcomings.

I promise that we're working on this. We're trying to recover as much data as possible from the affected times. We're also being extremely cautious -- we want to keep the site up and running, and we're putting in place controls to ensure that the chances of an outage and/or data loss of any size is minimized as much as possible.

Please direct your outrage/disappointment/and public shaming at me.

Thanks Tjay for your openness and for keeping up the vigil. -- I can only speak for myself here. I understand technology as well as men is not failure-proof. So I don't think there's any need for a public tar-feathering of anyone.

I appreciate the efforts that the people at MOG are putting in to make this site my favourite loitering spot.

Well at least someone said something. I figured this would blow over without a word. I'm actually missing most of my comments from last Friday and the post on Saturday plus an important mogmail I know I got on Sunday. I was going to post on Monday but that seemed impossible. Just promise me it's safe today. I'm post shy now.

Hey I just noticed that someone who joined up on Mog on Saturday is completely gone as well. Did those few days just not exist?

Is there any update on the progress of the restoral process? I'm still missing one post, the comments on a post that was restored are still missing, and I have a post stuck in limbo between page one and page two of my MOG .

Is there an ETC ?
