Spent a very enjoyable weekend at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival, courtesy of fellow Mogger Iain and Shani - thank you so much!Stars of the show for me:1. The Main Marquee - an awesomely large tent, which helped to make the event.2. Wailin' Jennys - simply superb harmonies, three voices that complement each other very well.3. Crooked Still - I've seen a description of alt.bluegrass which I think sums it up quite well. Rushad the cello player is completely barking mad, but it made for an entertaining set.4. Rod Picott - opened on the first evening, and can't get his song "Tiger Tom Dixon" out of my head.5. Kathryn Tickell Band - saw them in the smaller marquee - very warm set to complement the cold night.6. Peatbog Faeries - an assault on the senses (both light and sound), but great fun.Best of all - the company of my fellow festivalers. Looking forward to the next one.
