Most if not all of us in the US of A know Independence day is this week, and I know exactly what i'm going to be doing. I have been practicing the basic tabs from Jimi Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner, and its quite simple. Well, when my family and all of our friends go and start shooting off fireworks, im gonna crank my amp, borrow my friends distortion pedal, and whip out the Star Spangled Banner while fireworks are exploding in the sky. Sounds awesome eh?
Hello, my name is Jesse Kasman, 16. I'm both an independent musician and member of my school marching band, for the Alto Saxophone section, the Jazz band for both Bass, and a band my friends and I started named Catastrophic Octopus, where I also play bass. I enjoy most types of music, except rap, hip-hop, and country. I especially enjoy rock and jazz. I listen to bands of all popularity and style, such as nirvana and pearl jam from the grunge era, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters from the alternative genre, AC/DC and Led Zepplin an other classic rock bands, and plenty more from all genres. I am proficient at Bass guitar, but just got my first guitar yesterday, and hope to learn the basics and become more versatile in my playing. I hope I can meet new friends interested in similar music, and expand my musical knowledge and skill here.

Might I suggest something completely different? The Shakers, Aaron Copland, and Ballet. That is: "Appalachian Spring: variations on "Simple Gifts" before the fireworks start up. After the noise and smoke die down, see if you can do some Dave Grusin: "On Golden Pond," just to show that you're a guitar virtuoso in the same league as Leo Kottke.
lol, ive been playing for one day, and star spangled banner is 4 strings, but the D string is only used twice, otherwise its all G B and High E, and i only hit the seventh fret once, so its a VERY easy song, and the only one i can play...so far ><
