Yes, I've already seen them live twice this year. But goshdarnit, I'm going a third time! Eagles of Death Metal not only have released two of the most fun, crank it up albums in recent memory, but their live show is DIRTY, DIRTY ROCK N' ROLL!

Top that off with a headlining Joan Jett, and you've got a concert that I will be consuming copious amounts of booze at and having myself a damn good time.

Here's EoDM doing an in-store at one of my favorite record stores, Vintage Vinyl.

Artist: Album: The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, The Times They Are A-Changin', Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited

When I was a teenager, my mom would always insist that I listen to Bob Dylan. She would rave about how witty and lyrical he was. Once upon a time I forced my way through his Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 and I recall the only song I didn't turn a deaf ear to was "Stuck Inside of Mobile..."

However, today at the record store I bought these four albums:

It was an extraordinary whim, I felt compelled to buy them. And after listening to them back to back to...well, I'm only on the third one, but I GET it! I am enlightened. I now completely understand the greatness of Dylan.

My mother isn't alive anymore, but I would still like to say that I'm sorry. You were right. :-)

We are often influenced by someone close to us without even noticing. Nice story, enjoy Dylan.

I seriously want to run out to Best Buy or somethin' and buy some more. Blonde on Blonde looks appetizing.

Artist: Album: We Are Night Sky Track:

I just found out they're playing another show in St. Louis later this year, and I couldn't be more excited! Throw in the fact that they'll be at my favorite venue, Blueberry Hill, and I'm sure it'll be a night to remember. We Are Night Sky is topping out at #2 on my best of list so far in '06. Please enjoy this performance of "Stop, I'm Already Dead," the album opener, from their appearance on Henry Rollins' IFC show.

dead boy came through Birmingham, AL after their Bonnaroo show and I had to miss it. All I've heard are good things about them. Thanks very much for the youtube, as now I'll really have to get off my lazy ass and get their disc. MOG another post after the Blueberry Hill show, please!

After reading rave reviews of their work by Mr. Hyman himself, I've been wondering how to snag a listen... I've visited a close friend in St. Louis who lives about 300 feet away from Blueberry Hill. Great place, though we didn't get a chance to see any live shows the last two times I visited. You're so fortunate to live in that city....after I get back from Japan, I'm applying to grad school at Washington U. in their MFA Writing program. If they accept and give me a sweet offer, I may be able to take advantage of living in paradise, too...

Are you kidding? St. Louis is a hellhole! Okay, not really. But after living in Chicago, and seeing how many bands skip over this city, it gets frustrating after a while.
