Last week I wrote an entry in which i was somewhat cynical about the new record from the Beatles. Several people wrote replies in which they expressed admiration for the record. I read a couple other entries on the Mog-o-Sphere in which some other people have called it the record of the year. While out Christmas shopping I saw it at Target for $9.98. Under $10 is the magic number for me. If i have any interest in a cd and it is less than $10 I feel like I have to buy it. So against my better judgment I bought LOVE. blah...blah...blah. I read an interview with George Martin and the author remarked on how these mashes were done by someone who loves the Beatles and the love comes through. Well, i think it made the mashes too sedate and subtle. I would pick the latest Paul McCartney "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard" record over "Love" 10 to 1. Terry--i have been waiting to use your one knee joke on someone all week. It wasn't appropriate for the thanksgiving table though.
