MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

i was bored, thinking about another mog topic. and then i thought of it: what was I listening to this time last year?

so i checked out windows media for the little collumn that says the date you add songs. so exactly one year ago, i was listening to:

mos def...ghetto rock

common....go

the strokes....juicebox (and cd is this it)

so...i wasn't listening to much, but it was something. looks like a had a little hip-hop streak going there, i suppose. hm....

the band i probably listened to the most last year was bright eyes. last year was not a very favorable part of life for me...and listening to his angst-ridden early tunes (think fevers and mirrors, letting off the happiness) was a temporary escape. now i don't like listening to such music as much as i did before...all it does is remind me of how incredibly unhappy i was. it is as if once i play an early song (right now I am playing "touch"), my insides crumble to ash, my stomach hollow like it was a year ago, feeling not very much of anything.

blah. now i'm sad :[ haha

what were you (yes, you!) listening to this time last year? and what can't you listen to anymore because it reminds you of something not...nice?

:]

mos def and common! yes! i dont think i have any music that reminds me of something not nice, but any lame/bad/uninspired music makes my stomach churn and my nervous system bind up. this time last year.....i was obsessed by 2 mix cds i have : shortbus vs. lobster claw live dj set from AMF 2001 soFat! volume 5 - dj Fearless Vampire Killer both of which are ragga-jungle-hip hop-breakcore-dancehall mixes.

Last year at this time I was listening to Electric Six, The Darkness, and The Gossip according to itunes. Not bad.

My iTunes data doesn't really go back far enough for me to say... I was coming out of a musical recession then and spent a lot of time listening to radio.

Don't beat yourself up Woz. I went a vacation once with a bunch of people and I felt like the odd man out. So, I went to the beach by myself and listened to Coldplay. It was good for that purpose.

You weren't alone with a knife, were you? Or thinking about meeting an angler fish?

Haha. Nope. Just wallowing in enough self-pity to drown. That's were the coldplay came in.

That's what it's good for. Life doesn't seem worth it when that's the best you can do for music at a time. Ouchy.
