And damn if they aren't. Nizlopi is the UK duo of Luke Concannon and John Parker. This is Brit Folk with a nice layer of soul, a dash of hip-hop, and a lot of heart. Every song on this CD is a story, every song well crafted.Listening to this, the often mellow and occasionally upbeat music and lyrics that dart between melancholy and celebratory (sometimes in the same song) at the end uplifts-- because it's human, and honest, and not saccharine and cheap.
