Is Brian Jones Missed in the Rolling Stones?

Posted almost 5 years ago
Musically talented, gifted, visionary, outrageous, drug abuser are just some of the descriptions used when talking of Brian Jones. But would he fit into today's Rolling Stones?

  1. darmuzz says Well, Keith Richards still fits...somehow I don't think of Keith as a visionary despite his amazing songs...I guess that's not fair of me

  2. theknitter says hoho ... yeah! Keith apparently wrote Angie. He turned up at Mick's house, the worse for wear and tear and said "I have this new song ... it's Angie...Angie" then fell into a deep deep sleep. Mick then finished the song!

  4. dermahrk says Brian didn't fit into the Stones in the later years when he WAS in them. He was too far gone by then. A damn shame, too.

  6. theknitter says Brian could master any musical instrument. I think he added a special layer to the Stones music - when they let him. It's believed that Ruby Tuesday was his and Keith's song, not a Jagger/Richards composition.

  7. dermahrk says Well, "master" might be a bit of an overstatement but he was certainly exploratory and, while he was on his game, added a lot. Plus the guy was the only photogenic member with the greatest 60s haircut ever.

  8. wassonii says His horn work with the Beatles "might" have been a nod to Coleman:)
