Artist: Album:

You know when people tell you to take a chill pill, this new album from The Format is exactly that, a chill pill. 12 melodious tracks that feature groovin piano lines, sweet lyrics and totally tubular build. I recommend that you visit your local music shop, pick this album up and give a listen while you're positioned comfortably on your couch, perhaps with a significant other (or a video game, for those of us leading a single life). Recommended dosage: 2 bowls, 1 couch, 6 pillows and a glass of something cool. This is a great summer listen, enjoy it thoroughly.

I don't like Dashboard Confessional. I don't even really like any emo music, but especially Dashboard. So, when I decided to listen through it I got really excited because I'd already had a bad day and I needed about 10 or so things to hate anyway. And guess what, I didn't like it. That made me happy, I would have been pretty pissed off if they had actually ever done anything worth listening to. Ever. That's my little rant, I still don't like Dashboard, and if you like Dashboard then it's true that you're wrong, but you might not be all bad. Recommended dosage: 1 Dashboard album, 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher, 1 18 pack Bud Light, 1 especially beautiful 4th of July weekend fireworks show. Just be careful of the shrapnel and have a fairly safe but generally destructive/disruptive/inebriated weekend, I know I will.

awesome - I do not get emo either. Downloaded a few Panic! songs to see what all the fuss is about and it's crap.

Different can be good (if Kelly Clarkson only sang in the nude: good and different), but different can also be bad. Especially when the different and the bad happen to be one of my favourite bands ever. I hate to say and really thought that I never would, but the new Muse album just isn't that good. It lacks build, emotion and inventiveness; but most of all it lacks the riveting voice that the other albums had. I will give it good musc, the talent has not been lost with the voice and it more ecclectic than the other albums. In fact, if you started the album at track 5 it would be a pretty decent album, but I just can't get over the introductory tracks. It's a fuckin bummer man. Recommended dosage: 1 album listen, 1 bong rip for every track that should be better and by the end of the album you'll be too stoned to care, then take 1 album Absolution with Visualizer and all will be well in the morning. Which brings me to final gripe with the final track "Knights of Sydonia," which happens to be the single. Firstly, it's ballsy to put the single for your album as your last track, and if you do then it better be one fucking good track. Unfortunately it's not, it's a fucking awful track. Secondly, it's really ballsy to put the worst piece of shit song you've ever written as your single. I give them props for balls, but I can't give then props on the album. Bummer.

agreed. agreed. agreed. when i first heard supermassive blackhole(leaked to the max, might i add), i thought it was mislabeled. i thought, that can't be muse can it? oh, i guess it is. yes, the album is disapointing. yes, i will probably listen to it at least 6 more times anyways. yes, it is most likely their worst album. but i am a muse fan no less. in fact, i just got my tickets to see them. if you happen to live in the bay area, they are playing july 18th at the concourse at the sf design center.

hopefully their performance will make up for it.

I will be at that very same show. I fucking love Muse, and I hope that they don't play any of that shit at the show.

yeah. it's not very likely though. i wish they would just get up there and say "yeah, we know our new album sucks, so instead of playing those songs, we will fill their spots with songs from Absolution and Origin of Symmetry. Our bad." That would be nice. I've never seen Muse live, but absolutely love them so hopefully i won't be dissapointed. I've never been to the concourse before either(and am actually going twice in 3 days since thievery corporation is playing thursday) so i hope the venue is okay. they model furnature there during the day :P
