I just played this this evening.
Side 2 is just so strong. Second track is the title track, and if you don't know the tune, you have been hiding in a cupboard for too long. The final track is Beetles in the Bog. Again loving this...
But it is the first track that I have discovered again tonight. Four Cornered Room is just perfect. Think another spin is in order...
Oh and I truly love the cover. It feels like you want to know more about this neighbourhood...so many stories on one cover...

Robotanist glad you like it. I have bought a USB deck and converting a lot of my vinyl right now so I can listen to those great tracks while I work. As I go through my vinyl collection I am really enjoying the covers again (hence all my posts!) and am rediscovering some long-lost music. So I thought that as I convert my vinyl into digital, I would take a photo of all my albums.
So loads more covers to come Cody!
Listening to vinyl, taking pictures of the covers and lo and behold I am back in a wonderful world of Side 1 and Side 2.

The happy days when listening to music in 20 minute experiences was mandatory. And dig on some great covers.
Unless I've been in the cupboard too long, famous cover designers disappeared with the CD. I'm thinking Hipgnosis, Roger Dean, Ed Thrasher, R.Twerk, Peter Saville, Blue Note....

I think that there are some great cover designers out there, but because of the plastic wrapping and cover of the CD, along with the dimensions, their work is going unnoticed.
Am on a mission to find the great cover designers of the 21st century...

Didn't mean to imply there aren't great, talented designers out there, just that no-one has become famous. People used to buy albums because the cover was by Hipgnosis. Peter Saville (and Neville Brody) defined to a certain extent the entire look & feel of post-punk early 80s English music. Don't get that feel off CDs - and size definitely has a lot to do with it.

I'm with you on that John. My quest lies in also finding out how the visual fits within a digital world where a thunbnail makes a CD looks like a stunning masterpiece.
