WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

An overlooked gem from The Temptations

Posted over 2 years ago
One of my favourite groups of all time has to be The Temptations. Album after album, whether is was Smokey Robinson or Norman Whitfield at the helm, this group made some of my favourite music.Whilst a lot of focus is rightly placed on Cloud Nine or Masterpiece, I also like this album too. Aside from the crafty cover, the music is top notch. With members of The Commodores and P-Funk in the sessions, it makes it a necessary listen. My choice track has to be The Prophet.I just always feel that both they and The Four Tops get a little overlooked in the Tamla story. Not in my mind though.

  1. kristiana says Love the Temptations! They are my "happy time" music. And when I went to visit my brother last year and I found him dancing around his kitchen after bath-time with his one year old daughter, singing along to their songs, like, every night, I realized it had something to do with our parents for the first time. Funny, that subconscious!

  2. Jonh Ingham says Great cover. Motown covers always had an interesting take on the prevailing trends of the day. I particularly like Lets Get It On - with the photo of Marvin so blurred you have to conclude he's so famous you don't need to know what he looks like.
