WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

So, I was listening to Rick James (not just now, before) and wondering, how do people on MOG feel about bud? Who's for, who's against? Why? Let's discuss, I love discussion. As for me, I am a happy smoker, infrequent (due to lack of fundage), but when I get it, I enjoy it. Some of my greatest memories have come about with the help of m.j. (How I remembered them, I have no clue, but se la vie). Still, I know that weed means death to anything you might have wanted to get done, so I avoid it like the plague during the week, or if I have a paper to do (freshman year taught me the hard way). But when the weekend comes... maaaaaaaan.

  2. chucky says Pot didn't seem very cool to me after my mom stole my dime bag in high school. Plus, the cotton mouth keeps me from enjoying my beer. :)

  4. thecandymanlives says Hahahahaha @ chucky. Anon, I understand with the kids, and I do not condone marijuana use by minors (how would they get anything done), it IS a waste of money that could be more constructively used, but man, it's so fun. And, like Blair sez, its less harmful than nicotine (I should know).

  7. Dale says Two guesses how I feel about the bud. Then again, in this crowd, I might as well be a monk. I'm not hatin', I'm just saying.

  8. MattofMattRabbit says i stopped drinking about 2 years ago because i would sometimes get migraines when drunk, this was bad because normally my migraines would give me tingly feelings in my hands and tunnel-vision, but drunk ones meant i couldn't feel much in my hands and i was temporarily blind. but then i started hanging out with an old friend from high school last year and started smoking all the time, i liked it alot better, in fact i tried drinking again a week ago and decided i'd never do it again. it is because of mary that i started getting into vinyl and it also was a very good networking tool, if you smoke, no matter who you are, you will always be able to talk about smoking to other smokers. unfortunately i haven't smoked in 3 months (due to being in a new town as well as lack of funding). i still don't understand why its taking so long to legalize, especially when you compare the affects with those of alcohol. has anybody heard of anybody getting really stoned and beating there wife, or smoking themself to death? think about it

  9. tybees says I love to smoke. It's pretty harmless, in my book. In contrast to your comment about "not getting anything done", it motivates me to clean my house, write music, and call long lost friends; however, it does tend to ruin my ability to MOG - I'll spend 20 minutes trying to come up with 2 sentences.

  10. Bwentman says Well, for a long while I was completely against it. Then college happened. Of course. For three months straight I was stoned every day. Sometimes more than once. And more than once, more than 12 hours out of the day. That ended two weeks ago when I couldn't remember what day it was, or even what day a specific event had happened. Right now I'm taking a much needed break from it. And, it's working out pretty well so far. Next step is the cigarettes.... And to answer your question, I dig it. I'm not against, and I'm not for the excessive use of it. But once it gets to the point where you can function just as regularly when high...that's when it's time to stop. I just love listening to music and eating food while stoned. I mean there's nothing better than curling up to a good record at the end of a long night of smoking. It's amazing. And getting a bunch of people together and watching Pee-Wees Playhouse....is the best thing you can do. Secret words will fuck with your brain.

  11. dermahrk says I loved it. Too much. When I was into it, did it multiple times daily. Finally got the pants scared off me by a drug test. Addictive personality fer sure, but 7 years sober and 1 year off the wacky stuff. But hell, you can enjoy it!

  12. MarcoDisko says I live in Adelaide, Australia, where the weed is cheap and plentiful. I find it far less disruptive than alcohol, and it's a divine gift for the music lover. Yeah, I love my hoochie. The Scripps Institute in California just found that THC is far more effective than any drug on the market in slowing the progress of Alzheimer's. Why it hasn't been legalised yet, I don't know. Prohibition is quite obviously ineffective and responsible for a load of other ill effects. Meh. I need a puff.

  13. lilsamsam says Never tried it, dont really see myself ever doin it either. Im not against it tho...id rather prefer a friend or any random near me to smoke weed than a ciggie any day of the week. Only thing is if ur gonna smoke it within 10ft of me be prepared to deal with vomiting nearby. The smell just does not sit well with my stomach. well thats my 2cents worth. happy days :)

  14. Anna says I started smoking both weed & regular cigarettes when I was 18 years old (exams' stress, mplah mplah mplah). I'm still smoking cigarettes, but not weed. I spent one night smoking it with my friends from 00.00 till 08.00 (yes, that's right). I get up at one point, say "I'm sick of this shit" and walk out the room. I just got too much, I was full of it, sick of it. And dropped it, just like that. I've smoked 2-3 times since then.

  17. atman says I love weed. Way too much. Way way way too much. So much that I can't smoke it. Otherwise I'd be walking around in a complete fog 24/7.

  18. SamTheButcher says Tried it, never really got into it for a couple of reasons. One, on a trip to Amsterdam, went into a smoke shop and got fucking WAY stoned. Seeing trails and stuff, stuff that I'd only seen on acid. Freaked me out. Finally got to sleep, got up the next morning, had some orange juice and the shit kicked in again. That sucked. But mostly it's because I've seen what it does to some really good friends. Lost a couple of them due to it. No, not arguments or anything like that. I mean, hey, it's pot. :) Just...they got lost. One returned, after hitting bottom with his drinking. Went to AA and is now over 10 years sober, which I'm glad for. Oh, and the acid? Fun, but I only did that about 5 times. Got boring. Just like most stuff. Nothing compares to experiencing life sober. I still drink some now, but I've not had any drugs for about 14 years. (The panic attacks helped with kicking drugs, too, but I was off them mostly by then anyway) I stopped smoking back at a party where I got stoned after being drunk and puked. But yeah, never really liked the high feeling anyway. Not like being drunk, or just buzzed.

  19. lemontwist says I've never been offered and am not the kind of person to seek it out so I've never tried. But I have been very curious and hoping to try it one of these days.

  20. gollygee says I was a pothead for quite a few years and it was fun, but I also had SO MANY mortifyingly embarassing experiences during that time that it's sick. My boyfriend doesn't smoke and I've only smoked once since he and I got together (by choice, it was time for me to stop anyway) almost four years ago. I do miss it sometimes though, there's nothing that relaxes you like weed. I get migraines and I can only have 1-2 drinks or I get one. Not the case with pot. But here's the thing, it's not worth it unless you can get the good stuff. That one time that I've smoked recently (which was a year ago, so I guess not that recently) was schwag, and afterwards I just kept thinking "wow, that was really lame." It was a bad high, I just felt nervous/anxious, in a fog, not relaxed or happy. There's definitely a time and a place if you can get quality shit though! :)
