WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Wormed our way through this dead earth.

I didn't even know there was a video for my favorite ATDI song.

  1. atman says dude, I've seen you post a lot about them. For those of us who are stuck with dialup and don't have the patience to wait 45 minutes for a video to load, how would you describe that band? heavy, mellow? whatever?

  2. that1guy says ATDI was probably one of the most influencial Post-Hardcore bands. They are extremely tough to describe because of their broad range of sounds. Songs like Napolean Solo which is very slow at first but then progresses into somewhat of a hardcore ballad really show what they can do. Other songs such as hourglass are slow throughout the song, incorporating piano and softer guitars and drums. But then their album Acrobatic Tenement is pretty much a harder punk album. I love almost everything this band has done and Cedric Bixler is one of my favorite vocalists. So, they are more on the heavier side but they lean soft sometimes.

  3. Dozen Black Roses says thank you for that I did enjoy it. Ive heard of the band before but have never seen or heard their music. Nice progression as you described.

  4. Yah-Shua says At The Drive in was HUGELY influencial, but to be fair, a lot of it is post-mortem. Their split into other valid and important bands might have been the most important move of their careers, creating Sparta, Mars Volta, and giving room for Omar's INCREDIBLE solo work... The VAYA ep is a must have for sure... thanks for making the video available, i'd never seen it

  5. madrid spacestation spain says i definately agree, they rock a pretty widespread discography. I used to think the Volta was its better, but now I'm not so sure. I'd love to see At the Drive-In and Drive Like Jehu play a show at a venue of their choice, but of course, that is a defunct possibility.
