first show of the album tour

Waaa!! I just saw erasure play last night @ the tampa show. it was, of course, amazing. they played a lot of the new album, which was very exciting to hear live after all this time; i think i'm wearing the cd thin. they also played some of my personal favorites (i.e. breathe, a little respect). it was a seated venue which sort of sucked, and the seats we had weren't all that good, but i had a relatively clear view and a spectacular camera - i took 180 photos and 3 video clips.

somehow the show seemed very short, as well as the encore. i'm not quite sure how long the show was as there was an opening band, scissors for lefty, which came as a surprise to me. i have no idea who they are, but i do know that their white jeans were very tight and the lead singer was extraordinarily happy. so with the show beginning around 8 pm, and the opener playing at least 5-6 songs, the erasure part was probably around 2 hours, as it let out around 10:40 pm.

anyways, whoever designed the set was aiming for maximum glitter per square inch, because the whole stage and backdrop was basically glitter. andy and vince had matching GLITTER CAMO outfits... glitter camo! the girls were in dresses made of the same material and vince had a nice warhol-esque wig for the first half of the show. there were a few parts where andy was a little off, but he just seemed a bit out of practice. i know he's been on that other true colors tour, but this show really did seem like the first show of a tour - everything (energy, voice) was a bit slow to pick up at first, and the show as a whole was pretty relaxed. i guess they had a little break or something? i don't care, it was still a GREAT show. i'm well aware of their capabilities and any mistakes andy may have made were probably from hearing difficulty. the sound wasn't all that great in that venue, but it was pretty good. heh, sometime mid show, andy brought out a guest - a fur coat/puppet named debbie hairy. she helped "sing" with andy...

i love erasure!

vince brought out his guitar for a couple songs, definitely for a little respect, and possibly for sometimes. i can't really recall though, i'm going to have to go back and try to rebuild the set list in my head.

if anyone's reading this, sorry so incoherent, after erasure i get a little retarded. yes that's right.

that's how happy it makes me. too much serotonin!
