The Arcade Fire were one of two headliners for ACL day 2 and their performance lived up to the billing. The band opened with a thunderous version of 'Black Mirror', the opening track on the new CD. Many of the band's songs were converted to melodies as songs transitioned nicely into each other without a pause. Extended versions of 'Tunnels', 'Power Out', and 'Rebellion' closed out the initial set before AF came out for an ACL rarity: an encore.
This was my first time seeing the band and they certainly impressed. Everyone on the stage (10+ band members) were animated; jumping and throwing items around. They sounded great (despite being quite far back in an open air venue).
