According to LiveScience.com, music triggers vibrations and sensations that induce euphoria in humans. Music can do more than just give you goose bumps. A melody can: * Ease labor pain * Reduce the need for sedation during surgery * Evoke strong memories * Lessen depressionListening to your favorite hits can shift your breathing pattern and speed up your heart rate. 1. kristiana says Woah. Actually, I think my ipod is already doing that - eerily accurate sometimes. Yes indeed - music is a beautiful mystery capable of so much more than our feeble tool, language. This reminds me of when my niece was born prematurely and had to be in one of those incubators for a few days - I would go in and sing The Beatles' "Michelle", except her name, Janelle, substituted while I rubbed her back through a hole in the side of the incubator. Her heart rate would go up when I was singing (just rubbing back - nothing).
