Lilac Ride

Posted about 4 years ago
Although the earth seems intent on throwing the parasitic humans off its back with violent and weird weather patterns, here in New England we're just getting a lot of wind. Not enough to knock down your house like the big bad wolf, but enough to topple the fig tree in the back yard, and sound like overly long jet flyovers at night.I'm wishing the heat was still on but spring must be here because the lilac tree next door is drooping fragrant bundles over our porch. So this is the time of year I like to post "Lilac Ride", an excellent song Ms.Trisha Matthews wrote and performed with our band Twig. It seems to conjure up pretty well the giddy feeling of Spring after a long winter. Like Mole in "The Wind In The Willows" who escapes his burrow and taunts the rabbits: "Onion Sauce! Onion Sauce! he remarked jeeringly, and was gone before they could think of a thoroughly satisfactory reply."8:08 AM - 0 Comments - 0 Kudos - Add Comment - Edit - Remove e

  3. tefnut says If I had it handy I'd post "Nature and Me" by Volcano Suns. It has the weather phobic chorus, "Hurricanes, tornadoes, and tidal waves/Nature and me we don't get along." Don't think there was any mention of earthquakes, though I haven't heard the song in a quite a while!
