round like a record

i have listened to this band... in the empty city.... the album named strangers in the basement... i could have that flip flopped.. but i think its right that way.

they are really goooood musically.
though... not very strong vocally.
im not sure if its content as well.. but it is for sure deliverance. the guy cant really sing well... but i let it keep playing over the past three days in my 3 disc changer to 'give it a realll chance'..

musically. it is very very good. after you hear the album bout 5 or 6 times.. you really wish the singer sounded a bit more 'on top of it'...
kinda funny.
i havent researched them.. and dont know much about them. was wonderin if moggers could clue me in.

im not judging the cd... based on off key singing.... i like it for what it is. good music. and it does seem that the singing improves moderately from track 1 to track 10 or whateve.
strange.

the secret machines admiration

''shame is always paved in light
and it always looks the same''' some band i forgot their name...

i started listening to kexp in the random parts of the day when i drive.
i have a rad schedule... but its still random.
i know some of my friends will notice that i've graduated to 'better music'
some of them might ask why the hell i would do such a thing...
honestly though. tunes this morning were so good
(perhaps cause it was an import of a Love Over Mind by INTERPOL~
whom i love...and which i had never heard)
anyway... i recommend my sister check out the station in the mornings.
'''its up to me now... turn on the bright lights...''' INTERPOL

so. the last song i hear is from a band called... uh i forget. BUT they are playin at the Mars Bar tonight... which is relatively close to my studio in the city.... woohoo.
i just like to say 'studio in the city'... sometimes.
the idea of hearin somethin on the radio... and bein able to go 'experience' the live music immediately is really cool to me. local bands... music. promoting your message. all that hippy shit. lol it appeals to me. its easy going.
anyways wow. what ramble.
i might make it out to see the band who's name i forgot... at a place where i've been before. which.. i bet its two thousand times better now with that anti smokin law. its a small bar-venue(attached to the Venus Cafe)... got hot boxed w smoke back in the day. but...i would go NOT because i liked them. they actually sounded really StRaNgE to me... and kind of randomly annoying...
id be willing to objectively hear out a set... sip some kind of rum, tequila or corvoisier(sp)... haha hennessey. im so g... andgo for the combinedpurpose that i can- its free - its local - its random i just heard it today on the radio and there's a live show...
and. kexp is a really good station for listening outside of the box. but that morning dj is really hard on himself.
(interpol is not local sadly.. but im going to see them october 18th.. sweet)

its foggy today. that is the pimp shit...
i have been a sun~ worshipper this summer.
boats do that to you... hawaii does that to you.
and god... i would go snorkelling right now.
but i was gently reminded of the next seasons traits... the favors it does for us.
i love fog... leaves.. the colour orange.
et cetera... et cetera.
it also reminded me that im alone.
and like the fog- life becomes mysterious when you enter a new season.
you reap what you sow?
what the hell have i sown.
but its alright... kinda feels like light.
chased by shadows.
i'm sorry. for a lot of things.
some personal... some generally personal.
i'm thankful for all my friends... even the crazy fucked up ones.
oh god. im beginnin to sound emo... ha.

bring on the slide. autumn to the festive rescue. lets go outside.

lol but thanks for the love moggers.

long long time no love from me..

but i have not stopped listenin to tunes..

music i LOVE - check it out

been out and about and downtown.
the move went well..
needless to say though...
i am having a yard sale before i move again..sheeeeeet.

check out:

modest mouse -we were dead before the ship even sank. i LOVE it. the WHOLE thing...

:-)

and for something else totally unrelated..

the Halo Benders...
underground basement punk - rock.

i could tell you a personal story about it... but i wont. go here:

http://www.krecs.com/Shop/product_info.php?products_id=2665

and have a listen... there is a place you can listen to a sample of songs..

here is some more info:

Calvin Johnson: bio (taken from the K records artist bio website)
Based in Olympia, Wash., Calvin's work in underground culture started as a teenage fan volunteering at the local community radio station, KAOS-FM. He moved on to writing for fanzines, organizing music and film events, playing music in various ill-fated bands. Calvin established K, a locally oriented media outlet, in 1982.

In 1993 Calvin founded Dub Narcotic, a recording studio, in which he has documented the work of the Somehow Is and Never Was, such as Mirah, the Blow, Versus, Built to Spill, Fitz of Depression, Make-Up and Little Wings. It has also been the incubator of many Calvin experiments in collaboration and self-expression, such as Beat Happening, Halo Benders and Dub Narcotic Sound System.

The decade of the double zeroes has seen Calvin Johnson set out into the world, acoustic guitar in hand, as a solo artist of musical platitudes. Last year's release of his album Before the Dream Faded… [KLP170] is one byproduct of such venturing forth.

the root of all evil

ok ok ok.
so here i go. im goin to be a lil bit bitter....

im QUITE bummed. i have loved death cab for cutie since.... ohhhh 1998? 1999? its not forever.. but ever since i saw them at BUMBERSHOOT (seattle) i was swooning over Something About Airplanes.... etc etc.

now. what does it take to be the NUMBER ONE FAN????
id say im a huge fan. sparing my favorite artist's the maniacal fan letters and contest-winning-to-meet-and-drool-over-them-backstage. its just not my style i guess. i admire from afar. though that should not say my admiration is limited.
so - now ben and the cab drivers have this thing.. you can 'join' their VIP thing. get updates, merchandise, discounts etc etc... for a price of some number of dollars of dues per year.
when i saw this : i hung my head.

sucks that even though i do love the music and the meaning to life that it gives me behind the scenes... (no matter what it means to the musicians) i now feel like less of a fan because i will not pay for that shit. im not less of one to them.. but im definitely not a fan of the membershit....
DCFC so it seems... were never the sell out type. ((numerous albums and stayin local for years- its not cause they "finally made a good ablum in '06)) and im not sayin they necessarily did sell out. but i cant help but roll my eyes at all the 12 year olds at their shows now... the ones who only know of the most recent album. ((yay glad they started to like something good - but when they dont bop their heads to the roots of the sound... its a shame))

ill continue to adore the tunes... perhaps though even from a further distance. all im sayin is what a fuckin bummer. another band that has the same thing - where you "buy into the deal" (and im sure the alphabet holds more of these instances than just A through D) - is AFI. i love their music too. but i didnt sign up for their 'biggest-you-are-only-a-true-fan-if-you-pay-us-more" email based membership. neither did my boufriend who LOVES them...
this has got to stop somewhere (even though i know consumerism is 'where its at' - and it wont go away). most people are staggering under a debt. we buy music, gadgets, cars, condos, status, take-out, implants and all this stuff. and now the artist's want us all to pitch in some more. when they get enough money for cars, houses, boats, etc etc...(notice most of them have plural houses and cars..) music should be free. and once you know the songs... i guess technically it is.
but i mean, i was thinkin today as i was puttin my dishes in the crappy ass dishwasher in my roommates house.... its even legal to break ANY law in this country.... you'll just have to PAY for it. the judicial branch decided if they stop punishin us.. and just fine us instead - it will help them out... for all they do for us.
ugh.
maybe its just me? maybe im just too poor? whatever.

summer plans

i figured out whats goin on.
i know it all.

the name teeter totter was subliminally accidental... yet correct and true blue hued through and through.

2 months ago - i was hating - well.. severely disliking my surroundings.
job. car. housing sitch... the city. people. etc.

now in the next two weeks im turning those ideals inside out.

2 months ago - i was plannin to sell my vw cabriolet (not the newer model) and get a truck (prolly toyota pre runner)....
i was plannin to possibly quit my job here on western side of the Cascade Mountains... and move to the Olympic side... (bfe- to escape the city)
i wanted to stop goin out... stop livin with roommates... stop the chaos.

etc. etc etc....

now. im moving directly to the city. to a studio apt.... keepin my car - for its fantastic covertible and gas mileage plus's...
keeping my job... infact perhaps solidifying my schedule...
(trading some goods for some bads- but in general it evens out to me...)
teeter ... totter.

im not one to swing soo far - but i guess that it all equates to balance.
what is the night without the day?
what is the gray with out black and white?
i feel that is summer will be perhaps a very memorable one. gettin to live alone (YES!!!)... and havin a view of the city.
shortening my commute...
keepin my convertible for the summer..
goin to Sasquatch Festival Memorial Day weekend... to see the Beastie Boys and Interpol... and Bjork. (the latter two were major reasons i first wanted to head to coachella)
i get to go to HAWAII for the first time - in late august for a good friends wedding.
ahhh.
i think busy busy.. but gooood.

hope your year is unfolding wisely as well.
got any crazy life changing plans??

not much time to type right now.
but i LOVE this collaboration.
went to 1/2 price books yesterday....(($5)) and damnit that im broke - picked up this long time almost forgotten favorite. i LOVE this album....
the singer from Built To Spill
and Kalvin from K Records....

i recommend this to YOU..

:-)

also picked up Deacon Blue- dont remember what album. i have a single of theirs- "your town".... it was 5 bux.. thought id try it out.

and long ago - my 'the downward spiral' - NIN was ruined when a boy was painting the bedroom, he got paint on the play side of the cd.
now i am replenished.

well im lookin into a studio apt
gonna livalone with my two pussy's (aka felines)
kinda nervous.
kinda very excited.
my current living sitch is leaving something to be desired... something like peace from couples who fight... crying babies... being too cold to sleep naked anymore cause the basement is fuckin freezing...
kinda small place...
but very cute..
with a westward view... including the space needle.
ill have to see what i can do about gettin rid of some shit.

haha...

a lil eve six popped in my head.
(why ya gotta keep the fan on high - when its cold outside..)
just wanna let you know that im still a fan - get it..
everyone wants charm and a smile
and a promise....
but i promise not to try.....

i promise not to try
not to fuck with your mind.
i promise not to mind
if you go your way
and i go mine.
i promise not to lie
if im looking you straight in the eye..
i promise not to try not to let you down
dont let me down...

Lent - a day late.. not what you'd think...

im NOT catholic.... i dont even believe that jesus was born on december 25th... but THAT is another story... here is the simplist link i found to describe Lent - in its traditional usages... its actually cool to read. (if you are the faithful type of person... if your soul is black as a tar baby though... maybe- dont read it..)
disclaimer--->this is NOT meant to offend anyone. its NOT my job to pass judgement, so understand please, those of you who DO practice Lent as a piece of your faith... i do not at all look down on you.((hence the following link))..... :-D

http://www.kencollins.com/holy-04.htm

i DO find that practicing Lent is very helpful though... moreso than so called 'new years resolutions'.... TSSSSH.

last year my main squeeze and i each gave up our sweet tooth's for Lent... just because. it was spur of the mo kinda thing...
he gave up cookies (which he had been consuming on a daily basis) and i gave up ice cream...aka "your mom" (which i also ate like a mad woman on lsd)

NOW - his hotness hardly ever eats cookies. and i hardly eat ice cream. now - those sweets are very good and yummy and tastey.. and comforting. dont get me wrong... but if you use Lent as a period to 'go through hell' - while giving up something you have been naughtily indulging in... atleast you wont be alone.
AND.... if you have a 'lent buddy'... then you can keep tabs. :-)
its a WHOLE lot simpler than having a LIST of resolutions you wont even think-about-once-you-have-looked-up-from-the-paper-you (may have) written-them-on....... and it WILL change your habits.

this year though... im stumpt. ray is giving up Energy Drinks... YAAAY!!! im so glad he picked that. they are not good for us to drink.. yea yea i have had a Red Bull here and there... but its not a fetish like his Monsters.... yikes. (lol)
but.... me.
what do i give up? and seein that it is ash wednesday - im starting a lil late. but i can always start tomorrow - (now) and go til april 8th instead of april 7th...

im low on ice cream intake(maybe once a month if that...) ... only have coffee maybe 3 x a week... and its ONLY a 'short latte' now, as opposed to my old 'double tall'.... im NOT smoking pot anymore (dont freak out stoner buddies.. ill be back but not for a while...). i really DONT like to drink alcohol and dont do it regularly... so not much to give up there. don't go through the 'drive thru' very much at all either....
what else could it be?? i could give up sarcasm.... ((yeah right))

cheese? but i dont think that would be good either... maybe just yellow cheese? but i already dont EVER eat 'processed/american cheese'... ick. and insta-sick....
at work i eat pretzels and apples... clif bars... and safeway soups....

i dont eat anything 'bad' on a reg basis lately... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!
what do i do??? i mean. i even BOUGHT oreos... but i have not had them even more than twice since they got put in the cupboard- two weeks ago.

i need to stop taking on too many projects... but HOW does one do that? i need to make more money... i need to exercise more... but i AM going to register on payday to JOIN a 12 week 'rowing crew' training dealy on lake union... i could give up swearing... but uhhh shit- im a sailor's daughter...
masturbation? welp i'd say im def not goin overboard with it so-- ill KEEP that one too. teeheehee

hmmmph. what to do.. i guess i could give up coffee altogether. it wouldnt be EASY.... maybe that's it. but i feel like i've already cut down on it so much anyways... hmmmph again. (you liking how im thinkin out loud??) maybe all caffienated beverages? like only drink juice and green tea, water and chocolate milk.. lemonade??... etc. oooh. and decaf coffee... :-D

loading... please wait ask me tomorrow what i've decided to give up...
but by all means... only if you want to know...

FUNNIES

"Doc, I can't stop singing 'The Green, Green Grass of Home.'" "That
sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome." "Is it common?" "It's Not Unusual."

Two antennas meet on a roof, fall in love
and get married. The ceremony
wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.

Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, "I've lost my electron."
The other says, "Are you sure?" The first replies, "Yes, I'm
positive..."

A jumper cable walks into a bar.
The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything."

Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted.

A sandwich walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Sorry we don't serve
food in here."

A dyslexic man walks into a bra.

A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm and says:
"A beer please, and one for the road."

Two cannibals are eating a clown.
One says to the other: "Does this taste funny to you?"

Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet and says, "My dog's cross-eyed,
is there anything you can do for him?" "Well," says the vet, "let's have a
look at him." So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks
his teeth. Finally, he says, "I'm going to have to put him down."
"What? Because he's cross-eyed?" "No, because he's really heavy."

Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are
five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mom
or my dad, or maybe my older brother Colin or my younger brother
Ho-Cha-Chu. But I'm pretty sure it's Colin.

I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't
find any.

I went to the butcher's the other day and I bet him 50 bucks that he
couldn't reach the meat off the top shelf. He said, "No, the steaks are
too high."

A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident. He shouted,
"Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!" The doctor replied, "I know you
can't - I've cut off your arms!"

I went to a seafood disco last week... and pulled a mussel.

What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.

It's fun to lose and to pretend
She's over bored and self assured

Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello, how low?

Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us

A mosquito
My libido
Yay!
Hey!
Hey!

I'm worse at what I do best
And for this gift I feel blessed
Our little group has always been
And always will until the end

Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello, how low?

Yay!
Hey!

coachella~ fawkin best headline ever

Coachella headliners include a reunited Rage Against the Machine

January 22, 2007 11:31 AM
by Kym Kilgore
LiveDaily Contributor
Rage Against the Machine will reunite for this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, which is set for April 27-29 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, CA. The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bjork have also been tapped to headline the event.
This year, Coachella's eighth, will be the first time the fest expands to three days, meaning a bigger pool of eclectic artists will play on multiple stages. More than 100 acts have already been announced, and more will be added in the coming months. The preliminary lineup is listed below. Exact dates and times for the acts will be announced later.

Rumors have been swirling that The Police will reunite for the event, but nothing has been confirmed so far. In addition to Rage, Coachella has inspired several bands to reunite in the past, including the Pixies, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, and Siouxsie & the Banshees.

Another reunion that's set for this year's Coachella is Crowded House a group that's been inactive since 1996. The group, led by brothers Neil and Tim Finn, reportedly is auditioning drummers; Crowded House drummer Paul Hester committed suicide in 2005.

Tickets for Coachella go on sale Jan. 27 via Ticketmaster outlets. (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company.) General admission tickets are $249 for a three-day pass and a limited number of single-day passes will be available for $85. Concertgoers will also be charged $1 per day for charity. Parking is free.

Camping is available for those 18 and over. A four-night stay (April 26-30) costs $45. The camping facilities, which are adjacent to the festival grounds, include a general store, food court, restrooms, showers and shade areas.

More information and updates can be found at Coachella's website.

Last year's Coachella brought in more than 80 acts on five stages (including Madonna in the Sahara Tent) and attracted more than 110,000 people, according to The Desert Sun. Last year also saw the release of a Coachella double-disc DVD featuring performances and interviews from the first six events.

lyrics lyrics

So don't you stop, being a man
Just take a little look from our side when you can
Sow a little tenderness
No matter if you cry
Give me a reason to love you
Give me a reason to be ee, a woman
I just wanna be a woman
So i wanna be desire of a woman
For this is the beginning of forever and ever
Its time to move over
So I wanna be

give me a reason to love you.....
give me a reason ...
to be....
a
woman.

i just want to be
a
woman....

:-)
feelin these lyrics... joe the music-man at my favorite coffee shop was playin Portishead the other day... he's the only man ive ever seen singing that song..
i doubt that he really wants to be a woman though.

artist names of mass destruction...

driving to work today - in the car that doesn't have anything not wrong with it... wanted something other than the adam corolla show... and something other than 'seattle's hottest music'....
keep in mind im a very classy chick who only allows the highest quality mixed cassettes to play in my tape deck! after i ejected the NIN pretty hate machine- MarsVolta deloused in the comatorium... i was searchin through my glove compartment (which is inaccurately named) - for some tunes. grabbed one labled
"laurie's music" written in the sloppiest cursive that you can achieve writing on the 1/4 inch lable. go figure... im laurie.. and that was my music- originally labled for a poptop mix that had long been recorded over.
i pop in in though - to get to the good part- and catherine wheel is playing black metallic. yaaaaay.
there were also two songs from Ultra.Chilled compilation 5.1... Valley of the Dolls is the name of the one track by artist Mylo.. and the other is Mr. Scruff's- Get a Move On.... a funky housey jazz bayou-grit sounding ditty.
then i started thinkin about the name catherine wheel...
and besides iron maiden - i hadn't thought of any other band names that were also names for midieval torture devices... hmmm.

do you know of any other's?

hey kids.
hope you all are havin a fun fun fun time with the snow - or watever the weatherman is bringing you~
just had breakfast at easy street cafe in the junction in west seattle.. ahhh the greatest place. you can buy cd's while you wait for your table - not to mention that the food kicks ass.
if you ever visit.. you gota check this place out.

i bought 'recovering the satellites'- counting crows....,.
and 'KnD Sessions'- kruder & dorfmeister...

yum yum yum. weird though.. i hadnt listened to KnD for like 4 years... for some reason it wasnt as spectacular as i remembered it.. must a been all that purple haze in my memory. haha..

as for counting crows... i like the album. i really like the scratchy sound in his voice.. and that lyrics are relatable... 'august and everything after' though.. is my fav CC album.

i think... when i get an ipod.. it'll have to hold 8,000 songs.. since i love all music. and i NEVER would want the hassle of having to delete and make room for new songs... guess im just lazy like that.

you are quite right my friend.
why worry?
been listening to interpol rarities..
uugh ohhh oooooh the ache and wonder.

you were like a clown, you were just like a flower
now you are a lime... now our love is sour....
start again buttercup... start again buttercup....
(hope)
i dont like my buttons - oh yeah you make these fit
i dont like my clothes anymore...
i love the way.... you put me in the big house...
(appreciation)
its like learning a new language.. helps me catch up on my mind...
if you dont bring up those lonly parts.... this could be a good time.
its like learning a new language..
you come here to me.... we'll collect these lonly parts and set them down.. you come here to me....
(devotion)

ahh there is always a music for every mood.
i love that.
that is what makes music universal... though it can be used for destruction or ranting, i believe naturally it is to show love.(ultimately). think of children.. they sing to their dolls or while playing games...
it helps me...
angry time - NIN, Modest Mouse, Blink182, zombie, Korn, Portishead, Rage Against the Machine etc..
happy time - Death Cab, Infusion, the Cure, Tori Amos, (all of the above)
guess there is no way to really list all the artists cause each song individually paints a twisting engulfing hue that makes you say "i feel like the Kaiser Chiefs today..." (or wateveryou choose)
im sure you all know what the hell i mean.

my point being - no matter your dysfunct... with the right music therapy,,, life is all better again.

music is my bandage...

hope you all are enjoying the sweater's your aunties got you for xmas...
im shiftin gears.

wonder how it is that im blazing?? hmmmph. even a 'smoldering' would work for me.. haha.

not really much to say. just checkin in.
feels weird when the zig zag must stop. and the medal for cruelty is facing inward. but the zag stops zigging and you just be.

what a wicked thing to do - to make me dream of you.
oh i - want to fall inlove.... with you.

hmm. yep sounds a bit bipolar to me. not clinically- mostly for an example.

do you wanna or not? you busy or not... you are busy. uugh. ugh guh hug.

why isnt it just easy? there'd be no point if it was i guess. there'd be no irony.

mining for memories in a ghost

need i say more...
ugh.
i have not heard any other songs by this artist...
but this song comes off very Radiohead - soft Muse...
this track appears on one of my Ultra (label) Chilled compilations..
i think its cd 4 - disc 1
pretty hazy crazh beautiful...

any words on other tracks to check out?
i looked at their page - .... www.homeofmagnet.com today.. seems they have a few albums..

happy happy joy joy

magnet | Last Day of Summer

You crash out on his side
All is quiet, all is calm
The air thick with stale smoke, your cheap perfume and alcohol
And although you know you need him like a stake through your heart
You think it's worse to stay apart

Cause it's the last day of summer,
And it will hurt you more than most
Cause you're still trying to mine for memories in a ghost
It's the last day of summer
And you know you're not supposed,
But you're still trying to mine for memories in a ghost

You're absence makes no sense, just a constant state of suspense
And although you both know the bubble might burst as soon as you meet
Another false start, rather than to stay apart

Cause it's the last day of summer,
And it will hurt you more than most
Cause you're still trying to mine for memories in a ghost
It's the last day of summer
And you know you're not supposed,
But you're still trying to mine for memories in a ghost

hodgepodge holiday

just about killed myself listening to the cure yesterday.... ugh. i mean - i love them. but when you envision an ex as robert smith - singing to you... the beautiful pain must just stop. weird being in the transition. though i realised that i am ready to be fully loved and appreciated. anyone else? i think my next man will walk up to me and tell me that he is the one - fully capable and willing to love me to the ends of the earth. HAHAHAHAHAHA.... damn the idealism.
so anyways.. i had to turn my wonderfully torturous handsomest best lover - robert smith off... an i listened to thievery corporation. Cosmic Game and The Mirror Conspiracy.... ahhh the ever changing ethno-cultural merges that they can provide. if you have never heard them - you should. they range from hiphop-brazillian-french-techno-reggae etc... they blow minds for a living.
anyways.. this blab is mostly just to wish you all a very merry little christmas. or happy holiday... kwanzaa, hanukkah and all the other decemberistings there are!!!
my favorite holiday songs are george michael's Last Christmas and Chris Martin of Coldplay's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.....
ill be here and there....
hope you are enjoying family, fun, surprises, drinks, eats and Mistletoe....

Death Cab Last Show

post deathcab show.
wowwwey.
i had a great time aside from the fact that during the opening band - the 10 year old next to the 12 year old next to me - asked 'is this deathcab'???
uugh. im sorry but being a long time fan - it is very disorienting to see so many new little pop kiddie fans... it is disconcerting for some reason.
the only songs they know are from Plans - and if they are very fortunate they have listened to Transatlantacism...

the only disappointment was the merch. i only buy tshirts at shows... im cool like that. no really. i try to get merch from shows instead of the stores or online.... its like my souveneir. any shirt that i wanted was mens XL or womens small. neither would fit me....
and they wouldn't sell the one off the wall - which makes no sense since they werent advertising the sizes they had.... thus i will have to get a few online to make up for it.. hahah.

i have never before seen Death Cab rock out sooo hard. they were so excited to be home... yay!!! i just wanted to hug them alll!!!! it was sooo exhilarating - and the nerds that left the first time they went off stage missed out on 4 more songs.. of COURSE they'd encore...
funny - when i saw them last september - at the start of the tour, the last song they played was The Sound of Settling....
same to end this show...
i think it brings awareness to what is goin on - both in big and small pictures... like they want to keep us awake - to them and to our own lives.
and i have a feeling that the next album just might bite a little harder than usual... that is what Plans is all about. not bite - like suck in the least...
i saw ben gibbard play every instrument... with a badass hard rock out jam session and a drum solo..... and god damn that piano is beauty. ~swoon~

lookin ahead... feeling inspired. thank God for music inclination and fruition.

peace

-and your wedding figurines i'd melt so i could drink them in. drink them in. drink them in.

ugh. i have brief moments when im not bogged down and i rememeber music i love and that i want to post on here..

infusion - six feet above yesterday... yum. i have been listening to the entire album at least once a day.... keeps the bullshit away... :-)

its great and very different inside itself. dunno much about it- i have a burned copy- i got from a friend....
its really really good... here lemme look sumthin up....

'just one sip of your behavior. and my senses tell me danger... im getting sick of your shit.'

each song is similar yet unique and water colour washed... threading beats that make your head and shoulders move... good lyrics. they are influenced by depeche mode and other rad artists...

I can't expel the truth
It's much more than i thought i could do
And with time my worth with stain
And split your heart from my name...
So drive away your mouth from my ears
And waste a day so i can think clearly
And what's left to wait for here
As my hands sleep spent this last year
Choking the bottle's neck that pulled you from my bed

im seein them in three days... for the oh - maybe 5th time? i love them. i love all their old stuff. i love the new stuff.... and i wish i'd have told them in person before they got all smashing famous... and mobbed with chick fans. i mean - i could have been their personal massage therapist - and travel around with them.... (rockstar posture takes it toll you know)... but... well i didnt.
on another note - life is changing... im sure im going to go home and listen to all the albums i have (5 of them...) on shuffle and lull myself into complacency.
while i while away the hours no longer drowning in something i thought could be..
music is a safe haven.. and a loud speaker..
choose your tune care fully.

tottering

i love this. though im not well known -(( i've never been popular))... i love this mog site. i love the idea of music and expressin how you are feeling and what you are digging up and who you're gettin into lately. cause it always changes. there is a mood for every music and vice versa. music is forever.... music is love. now now.. im not all hippy widgey but, it really is. it is a beautiful expression in its natural state. children sing and play and laugh - and think nothing of it. they just do it. not exactly your latest Nike commercial, but its reality.
tottering - cause im definitely not a technical wizard. im slow with the whole download upload rip burn and all that jazz.... but nevertheless. i LOVE music.
i dont discount any one genre... i like most of everything - grew up on 80's country, 80's everything else come to think of it... my mother listened to elvis a lot when we would clean the house.... great vacuuming and dusting motivater! i worked at Experience Music Project(seattle)~ and got major exposure to a lot of music i'd never have come across. it was fantastic though short lived... And though im not thrilled about boy bands and pop rock for the kiddies_~that seem to multiply like mogwai when you get them wet-_there are a few strands that grab me. throw in some hard industrial sounds - NIN nirvana ministry and tool, and the ambient soothing trance to dub, deep couch to jazz/funk - we got most of the map covered... guess i didnt mention hip hop or rap. not into slanging and condescending tunes - warren g snoop and eminem move me too.
basically 'thank you' to all of you who are here... and to the minds that made mog.

its soon stuff yourself and get drunk and pass out day... :-)
for some its football day.... turkey day... etc.

recently read a post from someone who's apparantly been waiting. well here i am. and a song posted by them - bell bottom blues... though i dont know the artist, it struck me to think of john spencer blues explosion - bell bottoms. a seriously quirky sound that mr. spencer.... and an explosion is the best definintion for sure.. anyways i hated them when i first heard - oh about 7 years ago.... cause it defied rhythm and peace and all that. but then - i came to love the obnoxicity.... (im fond of my vocab - hopefully you will be able to get me)...
anyways.
just thought id throw it up - cause chickens are like turkeys cousins..
and if you are drunk and stuffed or just doin a touchdown dance... ya might just look like a bird.

rainy day parade

"Disintegration"

oh i miss the kiss of treachery the shameless
kiss of vanity the soft and the black and the
velvety up tight against the side of me and
mouth and eyes and heart all bleed and run in
thickening streams of greed as bit by bit it
starts the need to just let go my party piece

oh i miss the kiss of treachery the aching kiss
before i feed the stench of a love for a younger
meat and the sound that it makes when it cuts
in deep the holding up on bended knees the
addiction of duplicities as bit by bit it starts
the need to just let go my party piece

but i never said i would stay to the end so i
leave you with babies and hoping for frequency
screaming like this in the hope of the secrecy
screaming me over and over and over i leave
you with photographs pictures of trickery
stains on the carpet and stains on the scenery
songs about happiness murmured in dreams
when we both us knew how the ending would
be...

so it's all come back round to breaking apart
again breking apart like i'm made up of glass
again making it up behind my back again
holding my breath for the fear of sleep again
holding it up behind my head again cut in deep
to the heart of the bone again round and round
and round and it's coming apart again over and
over and over

now that i know that i'm breaking to pieces i'll
pull out my heart and i'll feed it to anyone
crying for sympathy crocodile cry for the love
of the crowd and the three cheers from
everyone dropping through sky through the
glass of the roof through the roof of your mouth
through the mouth of your eye through the eye
of the needle it's easier for me to get closer to
heaven than ever feel whole again

i never said i would stay to the end i knew i
would leave you with babies and everything
screaming like this in the hole of sincerity
screaming me over and over and over i leave
you with photographs pictues of trickery
stains on the carpet and stains on the memory
songs about
happiness murmured in dreams when we both
of us knew how the end always is...

how the end always is...
