"Love Letters"
Written in 1945 by Young and Heyman it became a top 5 hit for Presely in 66
I've always considered it to be one of Elvis' warmest ballads.
Here's the thing, the Piano arrangement, especially the right hand trill was "Pinched" by Lennon (actually Billy Preston who played piano on John's track "God" off his début solo album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band.
In fact, the melodic similarities between the two songs are rather apparent. And ironically John actually mentions Elvis in his song.
Give a listen; I've edited a piece of Lennon's "God" into the beginning of "Love Letters" Listen for the trills.
