Some of you may have heard this song before, I had it on my myspace page about a year ago when it was still fresh. Why am I bringing it back now? Well, I was doing an interview the other day for the Scott and Pam Radio show, and they played this song during the interview, which brought back some memories for me. It's from a side project of mine called The Toques (rhymes with kooks)-basically a few of my good friends in Los Angeles and I got together and started writing music together for fun. Then one day about a year ago, LA being what it is, our guitar player Fish ended up talking with the person who was putting together the soundtrack for an upcoming gymnastics movie called Stick It. Our friends Missy and Vanessa were in the movie, so when we were asked to submit a track we jumped on the opportunity. Unlike anything else I've ever experienced in the music industry, everything happened really fast, and before we knew it our song got accepted and we were not only ON the soundtrack, but the song was IN the movie as well. Pretty awesome! Taproot's never even been played IN a movie as far as I know. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) for the Toques, we've all got our separate lives and this has been the only song of ours that's seen the light of day. Maybe someday something else will come of it, but for now my focus is on the new Taproot album, so enjoy this song and expect a bad ass Taproot album by summer 2007!
