MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

Creedence is one of the greatest southern rock bands of all time.  Their sound is impossible to replicate, and without them music today would not be the same. They are a strong creative influence in SwampDaWamp's music, and I'm sure we're not the only ones.  This post is really just paying homage to a bunch of great musicians, and nothing more.  The music speaks for itself.

I love this ditty from the new John Fogerty album.  Listen for the use of the classic "Fortunate Son" phrase.  John Fogerty - I Can't Take It No More

this is as simplistic as anything that came out in the 60's. he wrote enough of these type of songs, he can't top it at this point

Bora-a-Bora to West Michigan - jees coming to my neck of the woods, raining like mad today, though say should be dry for the weekend.  Come by if you want, I'll serve you some of my special $400.00 burgers off my grill.  Or what condo are you in and can you leave my name with security?  You know, the song may be simplistic, but it amazes me how much less political music has been of late that it was in the heydays of CCR, and on that alone I love it.

Someday i'll manage to catch the Driveby Truckers...

Creedence had about three or four songs that helped define the era; we fought the Viet Nam war to a soundtrack of the Stones and Creedence. The Bad Moon shone on all too many over there.

I'm not sure how you're defining Southern since they came from San Francisco, but I get the sentiment.

Whether Creedence were actually out of Califunnya or not, their artistic roots were in the Deep Deep South; they played a very Delta blues/southern boogie style music. In the day, a lot of people thought they must be from cajun country.
