MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

It isn't too often that a song/band effects you to the point of drawing tears from your eyes. I am very thankful for Antony & The Johnsons and the wonderful music they create. AGHH, I swear whenever I hear his(her) voice I get shivers all over. I was fortunate enough to catch them live while I was in San Diego. It was such a personal event, Coco Rosie opened for them and I swear to you I don't believe I have ever been to a more intimate show.

Antony was the 2005 Mercury Music Prize winner for best album of the year - I Am a Bird Now. Why this group isn't known by more people I have no idea, but if you have not done yourself the favor of listening to them you really should. Antony has a very distinctively unique voice that is sure to take you on an aural travel through both space and time. Give it a chance :D)

Antony and the Johnsons are one of my most favorite musical finds of the past two years or so. You're right, his voice is very moving; it has such an operatic quality there is no way someone can listen to it and not feel some kind of melancholy joy capable of inspiring tears. Nice post man. I just can't get into Cocorosie. They are just one of those bands for me that i really really want to like, but am unable to. Blah.. enough!
