A Night with Matt Nathanson

Posted over 4 years ago
Earlier this week (Tuesday, August 15th) I was invited to attend Matt Nathason's show at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The show was put on by KFOG in celebration of Matt's new album release (Some Mad Hope) which hit shelves on Monday. The concert was FUN FUN FUN and I would go see Matt Nathanson play again any time. In all honesty, the man should second as a comedian, he is too damn funny. When I first took a listen to the album (which is great by the way) I didn't know how he was going to produce the same timbre and all around magnificent sound that came through my headphones, but somehow Matt and his band accomplished this flawlessly. The night was filled with songs old and new and even a few covers that were Nathansonified! Like, his cover of Journey's - Small Town Girl, which rocked the house to high heaven. The atmosphere was very nice too! There were children, hipster young’ns and parents all clustered in the spacious venue and everyone had an excellent time. People were actually offering to give me their space to do some photos, which is a totally rare characteristic in human beings. Matt Nathanson fans are keepers for sure! Here are some pictures from the night:If you would like to see more of my wonderful pictures check out my Flickr page. It is delicious!

  3. iodapril says I was there too! Dang, keep crossing paths with Moggers at shows. there should be a secret MOG signal to flash on the ceiling to identify each other :) like the bat signal. And totally, what a fun show, he is a true performer in every sense of the word. Forget Journey (tho that was awesome), his last song was what I loved best. There was no way any encore could've improved that show ending. cheer!
