A song Steve recently discovered and currently digs: "Always for You" by The Album Leaf

As much as the internet expands our horizons, I believe it can also contract our knowledge, or at least the knowledge between our ears.By this, I mean that because I know that a few typed words and a click or five can find the answer to just about anything I may want to know, there are times when I'm inclined not to look things up because I don't feel the need to fill my head with the 411. Somewhat akin to the legend of how Albert Einstein couldn't be bothered to know his phone number because it was already in the phone book and available through directory assistance.And while I'm more a Frankenstein than an Einstein (sorry -- I groaned before you did), I still can't be arsed to learn much more about The Album Leaf. I know that's it's sort of a one-man-band thing, and that his earlier work was supposed to be way better than his new stuff, and that he has some sort of connection to Sigur Ros.But the important thing for me to know here in the still of winter is that I'm really grooving on the fragile prettiness of this particular song, "Always for You," off of his latest album, Into The Blue Again. And kudos again to SubPop -- I know "all grunge all the time" was never quite the label's thing despite chatter to the contrary, but they really have built a nice, diverse stable of artists in recent years.Want to know more?
