  1. chaucer says Stranger's Almanac is a fantastic album. They practically give you a copy of this when you get your North Carolina driver's license. "Inn Town" is a great song as well.

  6. pete says I couldn't agree more, and I keep praying for a reunion. Ryan Adams needed this band to keep his moronic ego in check -- together they were brilliant. I love What the Devil Wanted on Pneumonia. He's never done something so haunting as a solo artist.

  7. carmensandiego says I've often read that "Pneumonia" is Whiskeytown's most mature work, their best work. But I always thought "Stranger's Almanac" was on a higher level artistically than "Pneumonia." Don't get me wrong; I think "Pneumonia" is a great record. But, for me, "Stranger's Almanac" is a far more engaging record. Maybe "Pneumonia" is better crafted; I don't know. But if I had to pick a Whiskeytown record, demos and EPs, etc. included, I would say "Stranger's Almanac" is the one that plays me.
