Hey all. As much as I dig the whole MOG thing, I had to uninstall the little mog-o-matic thingy from my computer cause it was eating up all of my resources, pretty much constantly. Sucks, I know. I was talking with Jenny about this community versus the last.fm community and I agree with her that people are a lot friendlier and open over here. I'm gonna try and keep my page manually updated with whatever I've been listening to and try and stay in the loop anyways, though.

This should not be happening, go to the forums link at the bottom of the page and check out moggers with similar problems or submit a post there , you will probably find an explanation....
My Trusted MOGs
hey - just wanted to let you know we are about to release a new version for both Mac and Windows (are you on Mac?) that should work a lot better for you. Make sure you keep a look out, we may release it as early as tomorrow but if not, then early next week for sure.

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep my eyes peeled..

Uh Oh, this means Shloopy and the Brain are due for a visit.....

Shawn, that happened to me at first too, and I think it's stopped now. Is your machine through inputting stuff? I quit once during the inputting process because it was sooooooo slooooowwwww.
I had an old ghost version of MOG on my computer that had to be removed, but you came on way after me, so I wouldn't think that's the problem.
Mission of Burma, whoo-hoo...my #3 for the year so far, and I like that Lanegan/Twilight Singers EP a whole bunch, too. I had way too much wine at dinner, don't take any of this as literal, okay?
best,
Jenny

Jenny: I'm pretty sure it was done inputting stuff, there were about 50 or 60 tracks that weren't tagged right that I think it was stumbling on. The main problem was, it would re-index my whole library every time I d/led a track or ripped a cd, which was very time consuming. I thought that you dug that Mission of Burma disc. Sooo good. I may end up breaking an extremely long concert drought to go see Twilight Singers with Lanegan at the Cats Cradle next month if I don't make it to the Melvins next week. Too much wine with dinner is a GOOD thing, isn't it?

My computer is way too old to have iTunes or MOM installed, so I uninstalled both. It's really inconsequential to me, though, I could care less if my last played tracks are updated, I'm not here for the statistics, I'm here for the community. :)

On the other hand...
...I'm a total data freak. MOG behaves okay on my Mac, but it doesn't seem to work from behind a firewall. So if people want to know what I'm listening too (without me having to write it down all the time), last.fm tops mog. It doesn't pick up what I listen to on my iPod at all. It's kinda hard to find like-minded folks in your community if you don't know what people listen to.
As a bit of semi-technical advice, you might consider changing your anti-virus software from McAfee or Norton to something free like Avast. Anti-virus software has gotten pretty heavy as well. However, even if it slows things down, do not remove your anti-virus software altogether.
And yeah, yeah, I'm overdue for a couple of posts. This weekend, I swear.
