hey, if anyone is a fan of the black keys, they have posted a four-song live ep on their myspace page that you can download for free. if you aren't a fan, check it out anyway. it's a good way to become one. : )

Very cool. I got my husband (a blues fanatic) Magic Potion for Christmas last year after a friend of mine recommended them, and ended up keeping it for myself. They are one of the few bands the both of us can agree on. Thanks for posting this and I am going to download those songs.

i saw jay clifford play a solo show for the first time this weekend. this is also the first live music i've heard from any former jump little children members in over a year, and i didn't realize how much i have missed hearing them play. it still wasn't the same as hearing them play as a group, but i'll take it. i was impressed with jay's ability to banter with the crowd and carry the show on his own, as he tended to leave the banter to matt, ward, and johnny when they played as a band. he took requests for most of the show, and made up a song about meeting zach braff in LA. he has the most amazing voice that i've ever heard. good stuff. if, in a very cool plot twist, jay clifford turns out to be Jesus, i will say that i suspected it all along.

in other news, i caught widespread panic last friday night in orange beach. i know that i had a good time, but i wish i remembered more about it. unfortunately, i had been awake (and writing a comprehensive lit review about disruptive behavior disorders) for more than 24 hours by the time i got to the show, so i'm a little sketchy on the details. i do remember some good hippie dancing, which is always fun to do.

concert reviews aren't exactly what i do best. : )

I didn't know who Jay Clifford was, but I headed over to his myspace page. Turns out I recognize his voice, somehow...whether I've heard it before or it's just one of those familiar sounding voices, I do not know. And Re: Widespread - I am jealous! They are one of the few bands that I have honestly considering following on tour. It's a shame you were sleepless, but at least you had a good time!

to me, Trevor Garrod from Tea Leaf Green sounds a bit like Jay, so maybe that is why he sounds familiar...i could see following widespread panic on tour. that would definitely be fun! i wish that i had gone to see them both nights that they played so i would remember more about it. maybe. : P

somehow, i never have vivid memories of widespread shows :O maybe you're not doing it right if you do hehe. I think you're right about the Jay Trevor resemblance, there. Well done! Have you seen Tea Leaf Green, by the way? I haven't yet, but I like all their stuff

so, bonnaroo's initial lineup will be announced tommorrow, but they have already announced that the police will headline this year's festival. i'm not sure how i feel about this. i know that a big deal was made last year about how eclectic the festival has become, and i'm all for different types of music at bonnaroo, but i really don't like sting. bonnaroo, i just want my bob weir and galactic back. and maybe even some widespread panic. and definitely some bob dylan. please?

what do you guys think about the police headining bonnaroo?

The Police just don't seem like a "festival-type" band, but we shall see...

The Police should've headlined Coachella. I am never able to go to Bonnaroo. I wish they had different dates.
