More Forever

Posted over 2 years ago
Another long lost friend rediscovered. This is the original RTF lineup, without Al DiMeola or Lenny White. DiMeola, then 19 years old, first appeared on Where Have I Known You Before (see below); and Airto Moreira played drums and percussion here instead of White. This crew didn't play with the same edge as the later quartet, perhaps because of the presence of Joe Farrell (whose flute solo here is magnificent), and vocalist Flora Purim. Where future RTF work is decidedly raw and muscular, the songs here have much more feminine energy. "Spain," though, is one of my favorite songs ever, and this is the original recording.Tears of joy and wonder are flowing freely.P&L,Soultronica

  1. Bartleby says I've always been a fan of RTF. One of my favourites can be heard on their self-titled debut "Crystal Silence"
