    Last Astronaut
This is the first post I make on a band older than 1976, I am not much of an "indy" head but there are a few bands I truly enjoy and Pram is one of them.Moseley-based Pram have been together for over a decade. In that time they have created some of the most beautiful and haunting sounds ever to come out of Birmingham, England. On a website (andypryke.com), they were compared to shiitake mushrooms and truffles as "they can only be experienced and not described".Personnel:Rosie CuckstonSam OwenI bought this 7" in 1997 & i have been following the band since then."The Last Astronaut" is a Science Fiction novel by Pel Torro (aka. Rev. Lionel Fanthorpe). It is one of the many (many) novels which he produced in the heyday of pulp science fiction.(supposedly one every 12 days). The sleeve is also based on the book's cover.(bonus track inside the comments section)

  3. Timothy Ritter says Yes yes. I like you are a retro type these days... But Pram is high on my list for innovative, and intelligent post rock. I bought their Too Pure debut e.p. many years ago... 94' or 95'? Not sure when but I sort of quit paying attention after Sargasso Sea. But yeah... great stuff!!

  10. leftoverking says groovy, is it to early to mix a cocktail?
    Permalink posted 06/13/2007
  11. soulrocket says thanks, googoomuc. most of the covers on the northampton’s kooky label looked pretty cool. I recall beng very excited about "the "new prog-rock" & "pop bands with a beat-" as we called it before the term post-rock was coined. I bought from cargo in the uk and from subterranean & revolver in california back in 1994-1997 and ordered a lot of crazy stuff to sell in the shop. not really, leftoverking. 22:48 hrs, here. cocktail time! I have been on a chill-out mood all day, which is cool because I tend to slightly overdo. cheers!
