guitarras callejeras

pata negra is the name given to a certain type of dark haired pig that lives in the south of spain. those pigs provide the best ham in the world. the term can also be used as for "the best of the best".i already posted on pata negra (the flamenco band, not the ham) before, but youtube deleted the video i included, so i thought it was a good time to re-post on los hermanos amador, specially after you guys seem to enjoy my last post on los amaya.http://mog.com/soulrocket/blog_post/115944guitarras callejeras (street guitars) is their 2nd album and the best example of blues & rock blended with flamenco ever done in spain.first tune i selected from the album is the instrumental "morao mellizo" (purple twins). 2 more songs inside comments section.

  2. leftoverking says i remember the post you did of these guys before. a you tube video no? they are really good. i seem to recal they looked like they were having lots of fun playing their guitars, doing some rock song flamenco style. very cool.

  3. soulrocket says hey, jeff. yeah, thats true. shame that video is not available anymore because it was great watching at how much they were enjoying themselves... and unlike most flamenco artists they looked pretty cool too. "morao mellizo" was the track on that video.

  5. soulrocket says my guess is that they were stoned to the bone on that clip. they were huge hash smokers those two.

  6. Bartleby says That is most pleasurable and as palatable as slice of fresh Spanish jamón. So they're brothers hailing from Seville then... Many thanks for those fine slices of flamenco.

  7. soulrocket says yw, bartleby. saddly one of the brother passed away, but raimundo is still playing. after this album they got an electric band which in my opinion wasnt such a good idea.

  8. Bartleby says I didn't know one brother died. My Spanish is more than elementary. Thanks for contributing to the edification of this simple mind.

  9. poebegone says very refreshing sound. drizzle in summer afternoons. daniel, this was sort of the "spanish guitar sound" my father used to make (er, with his guitar, of course). i suddenly miss him.

  13. soulrocket says for ages some of the gipsies families have massively dealt with hash & heroin in spain. its not unusual to see them live in a cheap house with 4 mercedes benz cars parked outside. wild people. glad you enjoyed los hermanos amador, reckon.
