In LA there's an exhibit of Bob Dylan photos at a museum called Skirball. Pretty cool place located in a not-so-easy-to-reach part of the city.
They have a photo exhibit there and you can see more about it on their site.
Last night they had a screening of Eat The Document. According to Wikipedia:
"Eat the Document is a rarely exhibited documentary of Bob Dylan's 1966 tour of the United Kingdom with the Hawks. It was shot under Dylan's direction by D. A. Pennebaker, whose groundbreaking documentary Dont Look Back chronicled Dylan's 1965 British tour."
There was some great concert footage in there as well as reactions of fans after seing him go electric. Many called him a traitor and said it was "rubbish". Others said it was the best thing they had ever heard and he was better than Elvis.
Given his career, I think we all know which group of fans were right.
Check out this clip from the film of Baby Let Me Follow You Down. You can listen to the whole tune on the Rhapsody link above.

It'd be cool if they had those bashers on now to see what they think now. I've never seen the whole thing, but a lot of the footage separately..thanks for this.

EAT THE DOCUMENT is a pretty fantastic bit of minutae. thankfully, i own a copy (i co-produced a documentary w/ Pennebaker in 1997... oh, the perqs!) and it makes me laugh whenever i screen it.
dylan and others who are on the leading edge of whatever they do - the first responders to whatever cultural muse leads them - are always slammed by critics, whether those critics are fans or pundits.... people hate it when the familiar changes.... when i was working at island records, it was my great pleasure to be one of the people who worked closely with the waterboys. people (fans and media) were all on board their ur-U2 "big music" celtic thing - but when mike scott toned it down and delved into his own celtic folk roots and dylan's own as well, he too was slammed for the shift in his style - when it was actually just his path (i mention him because he was one of many of "the next bob dylan" artists to survive with his integrity; steve forbert would be another)
"judas"? huh - its too easy for detractors to make their erstwhile heroes christ-like, isn't it?
as for "i'm not there" - i'm so not interested in seeing it.
the Skirball center in LA does host a lot of fantastic stuff. worth the trek up in to the west side hills for anything they do show...

I've seen clips of this over the years but it's pretty cool to have your own copy.
I agree with the change point. For any band everyone likes the "old stuff" the most while the artist is often most excited about their new work. People like to hold onto the past and I think that just holds them back mentally.
Your example of that is spot on. The fact that you could see it as his path is also a testament to really listening to the body of work of an artist and seeing it's trajectory.
Good to see you posting too Anna Log. Keep on Moggin'.

The Skirball CENTER! Dude...that prove dedication on your part to brave the 405 to see this doc. I salute you.
