Groove Armada and Bacardi Partner to Give Away New Album

This is actually pretty new and exciting: Groove Armada, in a partnership with Bacardi, are giving away their brand new album for free. Okay, that's great, but it's not the new part. What's new is the way you share the album with your friends — song by song — in order to hear the whole thing.
Bacardi is setting up a system where, when you sign up, you get the first track for free. Then you need to share that track with a certain number of people to "unlock" the second track, more to get the third track, and so on. It's like a game, with Bacardi essentially acting as Groove Armada's distributor. Fans who share with the most people actually get credit and can win stuff, too.
I think it's a great idea. As a fan, you get to share the music you love. As a band, Groove Armada get the exposure from loving fans, and undoubtedly gain new fans. As a brand, Bacardi gets music and technology cred. And everybody gets the treat of sharing in more new music. See, it IS quite cool.

interesting idea, i'll def check it out. how does one "share tracks with friends" or how do they keep track of who shares the most?
@Mollifire: Yes, they have a cool, visual way to show your network of shares. And then if someone you share with shares with a friend, they are part of your network.

I'm not necessarily the world's major Groove Armada fan, but I'm going to do this because I'm intrigued about the process! It's a really interesting proposition and I'd like to see more artists give it a shot. It makes hearing a new album pretty exciting in its own way.
