Might Want to Sing it Note for Note

I've been playing around on "this site":http://www.bobbymcferrin.com/dwbh_loader.html for a little while and I would be playing with it much longer except G-slice is watching Law and Order.Anyway, I remember way back when this song (Don't Worry, Be Happy) was all the rage. They played it constantly everywhere. Of course, then came the backlash. Thankfully the backlash seemed to only be against the song, not Bobby himself who went on to do some even greater things. The brilliance of the song is really plain to see when you play with that arrangement game. Apparently it was composed spontaneously and entirely for fun. So it's not surprising that Bobby brings the art of improvisation to some of the greatest orchestras in the world. His genius is pure and unadulterated.

  4. mktackabery says I saw Bobby in Cary, NC a couple of summers ago. He did a riff on Wizard of Oz where he did all the characters and the music speeded up so you basically got the entire movie in about ten minutes . . . big fun. His concerts are a real treat and his talents are indescribable.

  5. sonicage says I don't know if the song was the soundtrack to any TV shows. It was apparently featured in the film Coctail according to Wikipedia. You may be thinking of the theme to the Cosby show, of which he had a rendition and made it into a style somewhat similar to Don't Worry, Be Happy I had Spontaneous Inventions on cassette back in the day! My all time favorite was "Hush" with Yo-Yo Ma though. That's one of the first CDs I ever bought!
