MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Album: Long Gone
Track:

Forget the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac meltdown! This is a sure sign the end is near!

Via Stereogum:

"You know, tough thing about Jesus Christ poses: they're just not that easy to keep up for too long. Those who remain righteous do not get rich, but do get deified; those whose arms sag get vilified, get paid, and hopefully let themselves get forgotten. I think most of us gave up hoping Chris Cornell would turn back towards his soundgarden of Eden awhile ago, but now it's time to start hoping he'll show some mercy, and just stop; things have gone from bad (Audioslave) to worse (Feat. Timbaland). This new track "Long Gone" is a love song, which is OK because love is nice. It's got flange-ing "My Love"-y production and a general "Apologize" vibe, which is OK because those were hits or something. But when you add that voice to the canned, cookie-cutter radio-ready mix, the voice that was once "Outshined," and we're down on our knees today: the grace fall is complete. You can stop now. Let's please start with the forgetting. Forget redemption, I'll go with repression.

Coffin, meet nail: hear it exclusively at ryanseacrest.com." (posted by amrit)

I feel vomit in the back of my throat.  I haven't heard the song so maybe it's good, but fuck.  Who else wants to kill the joy and memories I have of the early 90s and grunge and all the shit I loved?  Anyone?

What the f*ck. I am listening to Temple of the dog as I type this and just posted a Soundgarden song an hour ago. I was gonna write how I hope gets the urge to rock out like the old days soon, then I have to read this? Timbaland? Call me close minded but I think I'm gonna do myself a favor and not listen.

No, he got the urge to sell out. :(  I can't hear the song until I get home from my hell job, but I don't know if I can bring myself to go the Ryan Seacrest website.

Yeah, I lied, I had to hear it. What a trainwreck, I didnt make it to far through it because I don't want to puke here at work. Never thought I'd have to go to Seacrest's website, safe to say I won't be back, ever. The beat is brutal.

You peaked my curiousity, so I had had to go there. Wow.  My ears are bleeding.  It just sounds awful.  I think I want to cry.

You'll feel better after you puke.

I haven't heard the song yet, so I don't have an opinion.

But feel free to show me the money, nevertheless ;)

I really didnt think the song was that bad. But I guess for some people its just not to their taste. I don't agree that he should give up, I think he should get reinspired though. He makes great music, and I dont think its time to announce him dead just yet, wait for the ressurection! (sp?)

Thanks for posting, always fun to read what others have to say.

Well, it is not grunge to say the least. I loven Temple and Soundgarden...those weren great days. I am open-minded to hearn what Chris is venturing into at the moment but hope he returns to his rock roots on his next solo CD.
