Moondoggies and Maldives

Two bands from Seattle.

Two bands whose names begin with M.

Two bands that play west coast style roots rock / alt.country (yes, I still use that term).

One excellent show.

I am very please to hear a couple of bands who understand the mixture of electric and acoustic guitar with banjo and fiddle and such thrown in for good measure - not to mention harmony vocals. Still rock bands at their core - but with just enough acoustic country flavor to keep things mellow. Both bands are able to keep things in the neighborhood of The Band and Neil Young without traversing into jam band territory. (tho a few in the crowd insisted on doing the 'hippy skip').

I think both bands will be touring around this summer either individually or together - so check them out if you get a chance.
