The Tripwires are the best power pop band out of Seattle that rarely tour farther away than Portland. Keep an eye out for House to House, which I believe is getting released in the fall. While you are at it, dig around used bins for The Model Rockets "Tell The Kids The Cops Are Here" John Ramberg's previous band. The dude can write pop songs.
They recently opened for The Young Fresh Fellows who, surprisingly still exist and more surprisingly have a new album coming out on YepRoc. But that is another post.

You've just turned me on to one of my new favorite bands- thanks!
I thought that Big Electric Light from their first album was on of the great power pop gems of the last couple of years. I also like the fact that they have a pub rock feel in addition to the power pop. They should be huge, but of course if they were selling then the kids wouldn't have money for the pussycat dolls or what ever.
