MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Track: birthday girl

Being torn apart from bloggers and Hip-Hop Elitists, Roots are pulling back on their "Birthday Girl" song as their single. That sucks because it sounds way better than any Gym Class Heroes song.

Anyways Hip-Hop DX says bloggers and Hip-Hop Elitists are pissed with the involvement with Fall Out Boy's Patrick Slump calling it the worst song ever from the Roots.

There is always talk about how Labels restrict the artist's freedom. But in this situation where they fans are not agreeing with the artist's choice? Do Fans get the double standard of denying the artist to experiment outside their realm or its just freedom of speech and response?

Didn't a minor musician handle this question some years ago by playing "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" to a crowd of hostile fans? Another approach is to do a genre zig zag now and again, as the spirit moves you (See: Miles Davis.). Yep, fans can get in the way, so get another set of fans if the current herd wants you to tap dance on the edge of the cliff.
