The first movement of the 8th is mind blowingly fantastic -- it encapsulates everything you (presumably) love about Mr. Glass's post-70s output and gives it an energetic kick in the pants. Granted, the third movement peters out rather disappointingly, but for me the 8th is still Glass's strongest symphonic work.
