WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT

Who are you trying to fool?

It never ceases to amaze me. Every time a radio station "changes" their format, they actually believe that their station is different from everything else that is out there or, that was done before. I keep seeing commercials for this supposedly "new" radio station here in New York called, 102.7 Fresh FM. More like stale, lame, same old bullshit to me. They play the same crap no matter what they say in those commercials and I don't even have to turn on the radio to prove it. News flash, assholes, stop telling us what you think we like and start listening to the people.....at least those that can process a thought and haven't been minipulated by the "what's in" crap.To all of the suits that are controlling the airwaves with garbage. Please take your ideas and get the fuck out of New York, go to another universe. Let me take over, I promise I can do a better fucking job than any one of you. I pose a challenge to any station that would ever read this. Email me and let me bring my collection of music to your station and let me play what *I KNOW* people will enjoy. There is one other thing, there will not be any censoring....all music will be played to it's entirety.

  1. RockRoll43 says boy you sounded out what I Felt for years of Radio stations changing formats for about 30 years now. It's also a sad fact that 102.7 was a class A underground radio station that brought radio to a new height of new music on the air and brought us away from the Top 40 format. WNEW 102.7 - WBCN Boston 104.1 made radio history. Now 102.7 a soft rock station - Excuss me while I put my finger down my throat.

  2. lemontwist says Dude, I so hear ya on that. So many awesome rock stations have been converted to classic rock (I can't tell you how many damn classic rock radio stations we have here in the capital district, it's sick) or soft rock or rap... it makes me sad. Fortunately there's one good radio station that remains, and it's is completely independently owned and operated (thank goodness). Incidentally, it's 102.7 FM. Broadcasts out of Manchester, VT, but I can just barely get the signal for it 40 miles away. :)

  8. River Lethe says Dude, I'm with ya. I believe people would listen to other stuff if it was presented to them. Why does radio insist on playing the same sets of songs over and over? Payola, bitches. Even the classic stations tend to play the same sets of songs, albeit a longer list. I mean, the Violent Femmes have been around what, 25 or 30 years? I'm pretty sure they wrote some other songs besides Blister in the Sun. Same goes for Van Morrison and Brown Eyed Girl. Soundgarden apparently only have 3 songs. Faith No More has been reduced to the gimmicky Epic, leading the uniformed to believe they are responsible for rap-rock (they're not). It's a wonder, especially with Sirius, XM and the digital format, that anyone even bothers with it anymore.

  9. Slicing says people bother with nregular radio because most people don't want to pay a monthly fee...there's really only one radio station around here that plays anything similar to rock but it's really depressing because the only thing i hear is a bunch of my chemical romance, which for most is fine but c'mon! the only time they play slayer, anthrax, tool, or anything good is when there is a tribute or when they are trying to be 'hardcore' :(
