WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

New music from the Orb

Posted about 1 year ago
The Orb, for years the most fearlessly fascinating sonic marauders on this or any other planet, have returned in 2008 with a new album, The Dream, marking a long-awaited reunion between eternal mainstay Dr. Alex Paterson and lifelong friend and original inter-galactic conspirator Youth. The Dream sees a return to the original spirit which spawned the first two classic albums, The Orb's Adventures In The Ultraworld and U.F. Orb. Working with former Dreadzone studio-wiz Tim Bran and a gaggle of guests, Alex and Youth have created a work of stunning beauty and immediacy while never losing sight of The Orb's original quest to homage personal musical obsessions while exploring sonic territories few dare to tread. The Dream is one of those rare albums that weave its own unique magic after repeated listens. If you dig the track, get a gratis download here:http://www.sixdegreesrecords.com/theorb.php

  3. fistula spume says Nice to meet you as well. Oh this is such sweet news, and I get paid this week. Will it be available to buy online anywhere or will it be at plain ol' stores in 8 days? I'm seriously freaking out. Can't wait to devour it. Just hearing that Youth is a part of it has me all twitterpated.

  7. sixdegrees says Hello Mtack and LMI. We're still sorta new to the mogosphere and we don't always have time to comment as much as we'd like, but the regular posts with news of releases and free tracks will definitely keep on coming. It's quite rewarding to know we've got some fans here.

  8. Groon says Have to admit, never heard of sixdegrees before now, but if you're workin' with The Orb you've got my interest peaked already. Not only is this a great track, but it sounds like The Orb have gone back towards their earlier sound, which is great. The last couple of releases have been almost too . . . normal . . . for me. I'll be checking this and your site out!
