I went to a new stage venue at Mass Moca in NOrth Adams, MA on Saturday night. I got the impression it was sort of outside so I brought my jacket and insisted my friend to do the same. He seemed glad to have it to wear, once we were "inside". The venue was a vast patio with a stage tucked in the corner and many tables (pretty filled up) glomped together in between the gorgeous brick walls that make up the structure of the Mass Moca compound. But, even with the gorgeous sails stretched and flying above us, they were rustled by a cool wind flowing around and the outside-ness of it was apparent. The music was great. Mark was up front doing his dependable vocalizations with Dave Trenholm, Ken Maiuri and Henning Ohlenbusch playing steadfastly and innovatively behind him. There were many instruments brought out and played, which was a joy to behold-especially when Ken and Dave both played clarinets. Woah.
