Probably my favorite type of music can be described ashook-laden-non-complacent song writing. Basically, I like music that's catchy as hell and always trying new thing. Oh, and if it doesn't repeat the same chorus ten times then that's a plus, ahem "My Sweet Lord."
Blitzen Trapper has been around awhile and this is their third album. I will admit now that I haven't heard their other output but "Wild Mountain Nation" is a consistently wonderful listen. All throughout it, this band genre hops from lo-fi pop akin to Pavement/Guided by Voices to alt-country ballads ala Wilco/Magnolia Electric Company/70's country-rock and even throws in some folk trimmings for good measure.
