Phil Ochs

Posted over 4 years ago
Hearing about Lee Hazlewood inevitably got me thinking about other dead singer-songwriters. For some reason Phil Ochs popped into my mind. While Hazlewood made it to the old age of 78, Ochs hung himself at the comparatively young age of 36. A quick search on Mog shows that I'm the only person who's posted an Ochs song; so i figured I should probably post some more.

  7. cpetersonart3 says I've been a big fan of Phil Ochs since the early 70's. My favorite song by him was the Highwayman, that he adapted from the poet Alfred Noyes. On a more recent note Bethany Yarrrow (Peter Yarrow's Daughter)& Rufus did a cover of No More Songs and called it one of his most beautiful songs. He has been sorely missed. Its good to see others that apppreciate his music

  8. tekla says It was so sad when he passed, I think that the world was just too rough and too hard for him. I miss him, a voice of reason in an insane world.
