Artist: Album:

Never these songs have sounded so different, so intense. Each song, except for "spanish harlem incident" and "4th time around", the first and the last respectively, seems on the verge of falling apart. An album made up entirely on covers, "love songs" as Chris says. While one can hardly describe "crystal ship" as a love song, Whitley does an amazing job, creating a whole new song, giving it a dimension it never had. He sings an eerie melody, a dreamlike tune that can only be described as an alien lovesong. The rest of the album is even better. The rendition of "perfect day" matches the original. The otherworldly "stones on my pathway" sounds like robert johnson on lsd after a time travel and back to the delta.
An amazing trip. A must.
