If you have never listened to Duck Rock or you haven't listened to it in a long time you are missing out on one of the earliest hip-hop/rap/latino/white-guy DJ things out there. The illegitimate father of everything from Paul Simon's Graceland to De La Soul's 3 Feet High & Rising.Asia if you like this beat, let me hear you stomp your feet!
As a kid I used to see TV commercials for Slim Whitman records and he became a running joke. In the early 80s I think his record company bought up 50% of available air time. Not sure what inspired me to fire Slim up this morning, but I am listening to him for the first time and if you are in the mood for some excellent "schmaltz", I highly recommend The Essential Slim Whitman. The opening cut "
My family had a jukebox in our basement when I was growing up. I tried to recreate it to the best of my, along with my brother's and sister's, recollection. Dig the 70s thing on Colby Ave Jukebox

I just put up my newest playlist, inspired by J. Dilla's Donuts, entitled A Donuts Sampler - I tried to find the source tracks for samples from one of my favorite pieces of music. Hearing some of these for the first time after having Donuts on rotation for years puts the both the sets of music in a new light. Have fun and let me know if you can find any others. Bummed that MOG doesn't have Tin
