WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Pink Floyd Sound Hits New Ears

Posted over 2 years ago
Forgive me if I've been gone the last few days. I've been chillin' on the Dark Side of the Moon with this Pink Floyd sound. As soon as I started listening to this album, I asked myself... is this really Rock music? On some tracks you can literally replace the British vocals with Lionel Ritchie or Isaac Hayes and it would sound just fine. I felt right at home with the saxophone solos and the female vocals. (_The Great Gig in the Sky_, by the way, is right now my favorite track). Apparently the tendency for the group to straddle genres makes them hard to classify. Whatever kind of music this is, I was hooked from the first Pink Floyd song I heard, _Shine On You Crazy Diamond (part I)_ (Thanks, "Deathtrooper":http://mog.com/Deathtrooper ) Yep, I'll be buying my Dark Side Of The Moon prism t-shirt very shortly.

  1. Pseudo Cyborg says Nice! "Dark Side Of The Moon" is a fantastic album by an amazing band. You might also want to give "Dub Side Of The Moon" a whirl after you're "done" soaking in "Dark Side Of The Moon".

  3. Rawkkiddoh says I think its the one album that gets discovered yearly by seventh graders around the world. That was the first time I heard it, and went into my Pink Floyd stage of my life. Here is something fun sekout, put the record on at the same time you put on the movie The Wizard of Oz. Turn the volume off on the tv, and let album play. Here is a taste.

  4. Pseudo Cyborg says Ah, yes, I've done that before. Make sure you hit play immediately after the third lion's roar ends. It's pretty awesome.
