Beastie Instros

Posted almost 5 years ago
So it's finally friday again! I don't even have plans for this weekend but it's supposed to be really nice here in DC. I recently saw an article in the paper featuring The Beastie Boys. I knew that they working on something a while back but I recently found out that it's going to be an all instrumental album! I can't wait to hear their new album! Don't even remember when it's supposed to come out. Anyway the article reminded me of how I used to play some of their instrumentals from some of their older albums and people would ask who the artist was and immediately be in disbelief to find out that it was The Beastie Boys. It amazes me that there is a large amount of music lovers who didn't know that the trio could play instruments...and quite QUITE well. Well I'm a fan of all things Beastie Boys...'cept when one of them pissed on the crowd...don't remember which one but I saw a picture one time. So here's my favorite Beastie instro. Transitions. Shit I could remember listening to this years ago and feeling like such a badass driving on the road or walking down the street. I just love when the kick first hits and the beat kind of explodes into the track with the first crash. It was one of those tracks that I quite often left on repeat. The cool thing is that if you listen to their instrumental enough you can kind of hear and feel a theme. Check the time signature in "In Threes". These guys are fuckin' genious.
