WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Josh Ritter

Posted over 2 years ago
So I just got back from seeing Josh Ritter live in Columbus. I have to say it was a great performance. Standing for 2 hours before he came on (partly outside in 10 degree cold) sucked, but it ended up being worth the wait. He's really like a big goofy kid (and I mean that in the best possible way). An infectious positive energy flowed out of him and really captured the entire audience. A very intelligent, funny, and humble guy, with just the right amount of quirkiness. Told some funny stories (may or may not have been true) about some random topics including Baby Spice, GPS navigation systems, and more.As for the songs, all I can say is that he should always play solo acoustic. I liked several of his recorded songs before, but I think they had a much greater impact acoustically. It really put more emphasis on his voice (which is very strong) and his lyrics (which are fantastic). So I definitely recommend seeing Josh in person, especially if you can catch him on this solo acoustic tour.
