So I just got back from seeing Josh Ritter live in Columbus. I have to say it was a great performance. Standing for 2 hours before he came on (partly outside in 10 degree cold) sucked, but it ended up being worth the wait.

He's really like a big goofy kid (and I mean that in the best possible way). An infectious positive energy flowed out of him and really captured the entire audience. A very intelligent, funny, and humble guy, with just the right amount of quirkiness. Told some funny stories (may or may not have been true) about some random topics including Baby Spice, GPS navigation systems, and more.

As for the songs, all I can say is that he should always play solo acoustic. I liked several of his recorded songs before, but I think they had a much greater impact acoustically. It really put more emphasis on his voice (which is very strong) and his lyrics (which are fantastic).

So I definitely recommend seeing Josh in person, especially if you can catch him on this solo acoustic tour.

Hey! I didn't hook up with anyone! He is a nice looking guy, but not my type ;-)

Yes, the show was great...i loved the set, and I loved how happy he was! Nothing better than seeing someone one stage loving what he is doing...good banter too!

Ok, this is my first post on here and since I'm not really a "blogger", I hope it's not a total waste. I just wanted to throw out a tip for music lovers: Scrubs is not only a great TV show, but it's a great source for new music.

I think Zach Braff is probably the force behind the music on the show (since it's very similar to his excellent soundtrack for Garden State). The show amazes me time and again how it can go from completely oddball, crazy humor to punch-in-the-gut drama in a second. And the music is a huge part of that.

A lot of shows now are following the same model, where they're using new music from lesser known artists, which I love, but I've never seen a show consistently do it as well as Scrubs.

A few artists I've discovered on the show: Joshua Radin, Cary Brothers, Colin Hay, and the Fray.

So that's what I wanted to say.

Colin Hay!

Makes you wanna buy up old Men at Work records and re-listen for the songwriting, eh?

Ha, yeah. He was actually in an episode where he was just hanging around with his guitar and he would randomly start following someone around and play a song while he was walking.
