Sigur Ros by Any Other Name...

What's a good band name? I've discussed this a little with some friends, and haven't come up with a name I like a whole lot.I think it's tough to stand up to the repetition. Clever names suffer from the Be Sharps syndrome. Books, movies, and even albums don't seem to have this problem, perhaps because they have a theme to work off of. If clever's out, what's left? Maybe being informative. I like bands who let me know who they are, like Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, or Black Sabbath. I was 98 percent sure I liked Great Lake Swimmers before I heard any of its songs. Nirvana's doubly informative ("we're gloomy and ironic!"). Simplicity seems nice, too. Just - your - name acts avoid the problem by default. I may be biased, though, since I'm a sucker for singer-songwriters.Googlability is a quality I personally value. I mean, come on. Being poetic is the only other criterion I can think of, and I'm a bad judge of this one. Maybe A Tribe Called Quest? I dunno.
